Ping Test - What is my ping?

Ping Test is a fast and accurate tool for measuring the quality of an internet connection. It measures delays in milliseconds between your computer and a selected server on the internet. The size of the ping depends on the distance - the farther the server is, the larger the ping will be. Your connection is stable if the graph is close to a straight line.

The most satisfied customers are those whose results hover around 10 ms, although a ping of around 20 ms is also considered a good result. Decent experience still occurs up to around 50 ms (we're talking about standard behaviors, but not necessarily for online gaming), after which we begin to noticeably feel slower webpage loading times.

When measuring internet connection parameters, ping represents the latency in data transmission between an internet-connected device (e.g., computer, smartphone, tablet) and a selected server on the Internet. The ping result is usually given in milliseconds, and its value depends on the distance between the device and the server as well as the type of internet connection. For example, the lowest pings typically occur in fiber optic and cable networks, while the highest pings are found in radio and satellite networks. On this page, you can measure ping to various locations around the world.

Ping and latency are terms used interchangeably when analyzing internet connection parameters, both referring to the delays in data transmission. In technical terminology, ping is the name of a tool that measures average, minimum, and maximum latency, checks the availability of the target server, and provides its IP address.

Low and stable ping is desired by all users who play online multiplayer games. Actions between players that require quick reactions (e.g., shooting, dodging, etc.) are particularly sensitive to network delays. Additionally, excessive delays can cause temporary screen freezes (lags). Online gaming is often connected by voice chats between players, which can experience disruptions, breaks, and other issues if the ping fluctuates too much.

The table below shows what ping values are good, acceptable and bad for various services:
